Recently the Minister of Civil Defense, the Hon Kris Faafoi, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding among Deaf Aotearoa, the Ministry of Civil Defense, and Office of Emergency Management.

This understanding will improve the delivery of emergency information before, during and after a natural or man-made disaster.

As most information is delivered by voice, the government is committed to improving the accessibility of this information for deaf New Zealanders.
